Description

Thermon T-99 is a specialized high-temperature heat transfer compound designed to offer excellent thermal stability and bonding strength up to 1204°C. Unlike other types of heat transfer compounds, it is also electrically non-conductive (once cured). Supplied in a ready-to-use form, it can be applied by hand troweling to fill TFK channels.

T-99 demonstrates resistance to thermal and mechanical shock, providing an efficient heat transfer rate along with strong bonding. To ensure good surface wetting and contact, surfaces of traced valves, pumps, and other equipment need proper preparation, similar to applying paint or primer. This involves removing oil, grease, dirt, rust, scale, etc. Common pre-treatment techniques for steel surfaces include the use of solvents and emulsions, along with scraping, chipping, and wire brushing.

FEATURES

  • Enhance heat transfer rates considerably compared to bare tracing, reducing the need for numerous tracers and steam traps
  • Decrease installation time with fewer steam tracers; ChannelTrace minimizes waste
  • Demonstrates thermal stability with continuous temperature exposures up to 1204°C
  • Electrically non-conductive (once cured)
  • Exhibits exceptional bond strength to withstand thermal expansion and contraction
  • High resistance to shock when exposed to extensive thermal cycling
  • Smooth texture for easy workability
  • Water-soluble for straightforward cleanup
