Description

Thermon RGS self-regulating heating cables are part of the Thermon SnoTrace family of snow and ice melting systems. RGS has been specially developed and approved for use on roofs and in gutters and can withstand direct exposure to harsh environmental conditions. Due to its self-regulating properties, RGS will increase performance when exposed to ice and snow. When the snow and ice formation in the area around the heating cable has melted, the power will decrease to reduce energy consumption.

EASY TO DESIGN AND INSTALL
The layout of the RGS cable for a system that melts snow and ice on roofs and in gutters is simple. In a cut-to-size parallel circuit, RGS cables do not require field dimensions of the areas that require protection. The cable can simply be pulled from the cable reel, cut to length and finished in the field using standard hand tools. Easy-to-use roof and gutter supplies, plus Thermon circuit fabrication kits complete the installation, meeting all installation requirements with one product.

DURABLE AND RELIABLE
RGS self-regulating heat tracing cables are protected by a tinned copper braid for grounding plus a thick, abrasion-resistant outer sheath of polyolefin (-OJ) or fluoropolymer (-FOJ) with a UV inhibitor. These components maximize protection during installation and allow for years of exposure to the elements. RGS is inspected along its entire length to verify performance.
