Description
Thermon PTD-100 temperature probes are crafted to enhance measurement accuracy between control input sensors and controllers. These probes are designed to eliminate the need for zener barriers when the sensor is situated in a hazardous area and the controller is in a safe area.
They can be connected in an Ex e or Ex d junction box and are compatible with Thermon’s electronic controllers or those from other manufacturers.
FEATURES
Reliable measurements:
The PTD-100 features a fully earth-shielded stainless steel outer jacket, preventing electromagnetic radiation from impacting control input accuracy.
Rugged construction:
Each PTD-100 is encased in a stainless steel outer jacket, ensuring resilience against damage from sharp edges, such as thermal insulation cladding.
Approved for hazardous areas:
The PTD-100 is certified for use in hazardous areas, eliminating the requirement for zener barriers. It can be connected in either an Ex e or Ex d junction box.
WIRING INFORMATION
For achieving the maximum distance between the PTD-100 and the controller with varying conductor sizes of the signal cable, consult the table provided below. Thermon suggests utilizing 3-wire cables with a braided earth shield for optimal performance.
In hazardous area applications, Thermon provides junction boxes, including the Terminator ZP-PTD-XP, ZP-PTD-WP, and JB-K-0-PT(D) Exe 1M25/3M20. These junction boxes are equipped with one M25 and three M20 sealed entries for PTD and power connections.
