The Thermon Genesis Duo is an advanced microprocessor-based module designed specifically for heat tracing applications. This unit offers control and monitoring capabilities for one or two heat tracing circuits, with the flexibility to accept input from up to two RTDs per circuit. It can be configured to control and limit using dedicated RTD inputs for the limiter channel. The Genesis Duo features a 4.3” glove-touch-capable LCD display with an additional light ring for visual indication. Additionally, the Genesis Duo seamlessly integrates with the Genesis Network, eliminating the need for extra hardware to communicate with Thermon’s advanced supervisory and management platform.
PRODUCT FEATURES
The Thermon Genesis Duo control and monitoring unit offers the following key features:
Efficient Configuration and Operation: The 4.3” LCD, with glove-touch capability, allows operators to quickly program and access all readings. When connected to the Genesis Network, configuration and operation can be centrally managed for a distributed controls network.
Improved Control Methods: The Duo incorporates multiple control methods (On/Off, Soft-Start, Proportional) and introduces the enhanced Ambient Proportional Control (APC and APCM). This feature combines the energy-saving benefits of Ambient Proportional Control with the higher current capacity of the mechanical relay.
Upgraded Communications: As a Genesis Network native, the Duo comes with built-in wireless mesh or wired Ethernet. Optionally, it can be directly connected to any plant DCS system via Modbus RTU, with Modbus TCP support planned for a future update.
High-Temperature Limiter: The Duo can be configured as a single channel with a high-temperature limiter. This limiter functionality is isolated and includes dedicated RTD inputs. When enabled with the limiter function, the Duo complies with the requirements of IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60079-30-1 for controlled design to limit energy to the heat trace in explosive atmospheres.
GENESIS NETWORK
The Thermon Genesis Network comprises a control room server, a gateway, and an array of field-deployed bridges/nodes that create a wireless mesh communications network. Alternatively, the network can be established through a conventional wired Ethernet network. Connecting all heat trace panels and controllers to the control room, the Genesis Network provides visibility of all assets through a unified dashboard and user interface accessible from any browser.
