Description

Isopad platen heaters (IPH) are meticulously designed to amalgamate the advantages of an electric radiant heat source with the design specifications of press plates. With their uniform heat density, they prove to be exceptionally well-suited for coating and lamination processes, finding widespread application in high-quality settings like the manufacture of solar panels.

At the core of these heaters is a mineral-insulated (MI) heating cable capable of delivering temperatures up to 1000°C. The MI heating cable undergoes precision manufacturing, transformed into a hermetically sealed heating element using laser welding technology. It is then shaped to ensure optimal heat density and fully encapsulated within a metallic platen, ready for use.

The extended element lengths made possible by MI cables reduce the need for vacuum feedthroughs, minimizing potential failure modes in the final assembly. Further enhancing reliability, multiple temperature sensors are employed, with the option of fully integrated and vacuum-tested power and sensor feedthroughs.

Isopad offers the flexibility to create customized platen heaters tailored to specific customer design requirements or to engineer them based on a straightforward design outline.
